Guild News

  • Congratulations to our newly qualified and Practicing Members.
  • True to our tradition, pre-AGM convention and AGM were at the Woodford Folk Festival. AGM: January 2, 2010, 8pm.
  • Next ordinary meeting Sunday Feb 28, 2010. Interstate committee members can attend via skype.
  • Our Kupuna event 2011 is planned for June 2011.
  • We welcome our new committee members:
  • New secretaries: Kauka, Gail Ransby.
  • New treasurer: Hielrick Dajon.
  • All other positions remain the same.
  • Membership fee invoices for 201 have been sent via email.

Sponsorships

As member numbers keep climbing, the Guild is able to provide more sponsorships to assist with travel to Guild and other professional development events.

Two recipients for sponsorship to participate at the Woodford student clinic have been selected.

Two members, from Brisbane and Adelaide, have received travel funding to Kowanyama to participate at the Kowanyama Baby Festival.

Kahuna Bodywork Outcome Study

Client questionnaires stage 1 collection for the outcome study has finished as of Feb 1, 2009. Follow up questionnaires will be posted to all practising members.

First evaluations of stage 1 questionnaires are showing clear tendencies.

The effect of Kahuna Bodywork on Australia's indigenous population has been explored by a group of 4 Guild members. Results will be integrated into the study.
